BASILAN โ The Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD), through its Supplementary Feeding Program (SFP), has provided sets of nutritious food supplies to indigent daycare learners in municipalities of Basilan from March 20-April 12, 2023.
The distribution reached a total 5,992 beneficiaries, who are currently enrolled in child development centers (CDCs) and supervised neighborhood play (SNP) facilities.
The SFP program aims to address the issue of malnutrition and hunger among students who come from low-income families. Malnourished children often experience poor health and cognitive development, which can negatively affect their academic performance and overall well-being. Providing a regular and nutritious meal through the feeding program can help improve the students’ health and nutrition, increase their energy and concentration, and ultimately enhance their academic performance.
