MSSD BARMM Tawi-tawi completed the distribution of food items under the Supplementary Feeding Program (SFP) for 1,037 learners in 16 day care centers in Sibutu, Tawi on 24-28 May 2022.
Each learner received 25 kg of rice,
1.5 kg of monggo, 750 grams dilis, and 4 pcs of apples.
The SFP provides food for children between 2-5 years old who are enrolled in the day care centers or supervised neighborhood play areas as part of the early childhood care and development program.
The SFP seeks to improve and sustain the nutritional status of the learners, and improve the knowledge, attitude, and practices of children, parents, and caregivers through intensified nutrition and health education.
MSSD shall complete the distribution of food items for 79,043 learners across the Bangsamoro Region in the next few weeks.
The SFP is a nationally funded program, which is being managed by MSSD in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).
