COTABATO CITY — On Saturday, September 4, 2021, the Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD) along with the Ministry of Interior and Local Government (MILG), BARMM Rapid Emergency Assistance for Disaster Incidence (READI), and the Office of the Chief Minister’s Project Tulong Alay sa Bangsamorong Nangangailangan (TABANG) dispatched several truckloads of welfare goods bound for Lanao del Sur in response to the lockdowns implemented by the Lanao del Sur Provincial Inter-agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Disease, which will take effect on the same day.

This is also in response to the request for assistance from the Office of the Provincial Governor of Lanao del Sur due to the increasing number of COVID-19 cases in Lanao del Sur.

MILG, BARMM READI, and OCM’s Project Tabang also provided additional rice assistance, hygiene kits, and foodpacks.

BARMM Interim Chief Minister Al-Hadj Murad B. Ebrahim and representatives from MSSD and BARMM-READI personally inspected the welfare goods to ensure its quality prior to send-off.

“Itong tulong na ito ay regular na ginagawa natin ngayon sa BARMM dahil nakikita natin ang paghihirap ng ating mga kababayan. We will do more kung saan kailangan ay talagang magpapadala tayo ng tulong sa kanila. Ito ay bahagi ng ating moral governance”, assured Bangsamoro Chief Minister Ebrahim. (Jidday Lucman, MSSD BARMM)
