(14 April 2022 | Datu Montawal, Maguindanao) — Today, MSSD Minister Atty. Raissa H. Jajurie monitored the distribution of relief goods for 1,000 flood-affected families in Datu Montawal, Maguindanao.
In Barangay Talitay, 450 families from 7 sitios received MSSD food packs composed of 25 kg. of rice, 10 cans of sardines, 10 packs of instant noodles, 1 kg of sugar, and 12 sachets of instant coffee.
The goods were distributed in the neighboring town of Barangay Rajah Muda in Pikit.
Meanwhile, in Barangay Dungguan, 550 families from 5 sitios received the same set of food packs from MSSD.
These towns have remained under flood waters for more than 10 days, destroying all the corn and rice fields in these towns.
The Philippine Red Cross released the relief goods on behalf of MSSD, following the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement between the two agencies.
This is also in compliance with Comelec’s prohibition against the release, disbursement, or expenditure of government funds during the election period.
MSSD in partnership with the Phil. Red Cross shall continue the distibution of live-saving support in other flood-affected communities in the next few days.
