The Bangsamoro C.A.R.E.S Program provides medical, burial, transportation, food, and cash assistance to individuals and/or families who are indigents, vulnerable, disadvantaged, or otherwise in crisis.

To facilitate the timely response to the medical needs of indigents, MSSD entered into contractual agreements with 13 hospitals and 9 pharmacies across the Bangsamoro Region.

About 6,570 indigent individuals and families availed themselves of medical assistance, including hospitalization expenses, medicines, laboratory costs, and other treatments or procedures.

7,840 individuals and families in extremely difficult circumstances and indigent beneficiaries seek burial assistance to defray funeral and related expenses, including, but not limited to, expenses in bringing the remains to the residence of the deceased and/or burial site following existing customary practices of the family.

A total of 8,568 individuals with medical needs received responsive medicine assistance through partner pharmacies.

Criteria For Eligibility

Individuals and/or families who are indigent, vulnerable, disadvantaged, or otherwise in crisis situations based on the assessment of MSSD’s social worker.

Hospitalization Requirements:

  • Medical Abstract
  • Statement of Account
  • Promissory Note
  • Valid ID Informant/Beneficiary
  • Certificate of Indigency

Medicines Requirements:

  • Prescription with date of issuance, signature, and license of the attending physician
  • Valid ID Informant/Beneficiary
  • Certificate of Indigency

Medical Assistive Device Requirements:

  • Prescription with date of issuance, signature, and license of the attending physician
  • Medical certificate
  • Valid ID Informant/Beneficiary
  • Certificate of Indigency

Dialysis, Chemotherapy, And Other Procedures Requirements:

  • Quotation from the hospital to determine the amount of the procedure
  • Medical Certificate
  • Valid ID Informant/Beneficiary

 

Laboratory Request Requirements:

  • Laboratory requests with date of issuance, signature and license number of the attending physician
  • Valid ID Informant/Beneficiary

Burial Assistance Requirements:

  • Death Certificate
  • In the absence of a death certificate, a certification from the tribal chieftain/certification from imam
  • Funeral Contract (for Christians)
  • Valid ID Informant/Beneficiary

Transportation Assistance Requirements:

  • Ticket/transportation Quotation
  • Valid ID Informant/beneficiary

 

Cash Assistance Requirements:

  • Any valid government-issued ID of the client/person to be interviewed
  • Other necessary documents

 

Food Assistance Requirements:

  • In-take
  • Valid ID informant/beneficiary
