As we observe the World Day Against Child Labor, the Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD) acknowledges the need to protect children from child labor in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), alongside its partners from different sectors.
MSSD, as one of the social service frontline agencies of the Bangsamoro Government, is committed to safeguarding children’s rights and welfare, as well as promoting their holistic development through various social protection programs. These programs include the Child and Youth Welfare Program, the Family and Community Welfare Program, and the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program.
Through educational support to children, health and nutrition promotion, and livelihood assistance for families, MSSD, in collaboration with local communities and development sectors seeks to combat child labor and ensure that every child will enjoy his or her rights and have a healthy, safe, and free life.
