As we commemorate the 5th anniversary of the infamous Marawi siege, which occurred on May 23, 2017, the Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD) joins the commemoration of this dreadful chapter in the city’s history that forever changed the lives of the Meranaws and thousands of internally displaced people.
MSSD and the Bangsamoro Government as a whole are dedicated to continuing the conduct of rehabilitation activities and interventions to improve the socio-economic conditions of the afflicted populace and reconstruct their lives, as the city has been wrecked by this man-made calamity.
The Bangsamoro Government has consistently prioritized rebuilding the lives of Marawi IDPs by providing meaningful and IDP-centered support to the ongoing restoration, reconstruction, and recovery of Marawi City.
