As of 12 October 2021, the Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD) has served 116,792 households from Cotabato City, the 63 barangays in the Special Geographic Area (SGA), and the Bangsamoro communities outside the Bangsamoro Region (BCOBAR).
These households received relief assistance in the form of food and/or non-food items as part of the Ministry’s comprehensive response for poor and vulnerable families affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Recipients also include families who have been displaced due to natural disasters, armed conflict, and clan feuds.
This is part of MSSD’s comprehensive emergency assistance and services for affected families to support life-saving needs, save lives, reduce negative health impacts, and ensure public safety.
For the COVID-19 response, MSSD workers have been at the frontlines providing life-saving support and protection to people most in need in the Bangsamoro Region.
MSSD shall continue to deliver social protection and assistance in a timely and efficient manner to the poorest and most vulnerable sectors.
