TAWI-TAWI – In response to the fire incident that occurred yesterday, December 31, 2023, in Brgy. Poblacion, Bongao, Tawi-Tawi, the Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD) immediately provided relief assistance to the 109 fire-affected individuals last night. MSSD, through its Tawi-Tawi Provincial Field Office, distributed food assistance and sleeping kits to them. The victims are temporarily taking refuge at the Bongao Port, while some have sought shelter with their relatives. “Among those impacted by the fire incident were 12 houses, a sari-sari store, a warehouse, and the maritime office,” said Leeshabel Adil, Social Welfare Officer II of MSSD Tawi-Tawi Provincial Field Office.
