Cotabato City, BANGSAMORO โ Employees of the Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD) actively participated in the 4th Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) earlier today. The drill was held at the Ministryโs regional office inside the Bangsamoro Government Center in Cotabato City.
In accordance with NDRRMC’s Memorandum 006, the quarterly execution and demonstration of NSED is intended to assess and enhance the awareness, preparedness, and response capacities of government personnel in the event of an earthquake catastrophe.
Following the drill, MSSD personnel gathered for a post-simulation and feedback session to share perspectives, reflections, and preparations for the event and for future tremors.
MSSD director general Mohammad Muktadir Ahmad Estrella and MSSD chief of Disaster Response Management Division, Racmah Abdula, emphasized during the event the importance of awareness and preparation during calamities. Family and Community Welfare Program (FCWP) focal, Minang Nagamora, also shared the importance of checking on colleagues’ safety during an earthquake, while Honey Jane Masion from the Supply Division shared preventive measures to apply during such events.
The Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) is an annual nationwide event aimed at enhancing earthquake preparedness and response capabilities across the Philippines. It serves as a vital reminder of the importance of disaster readiness in a country prone to seismic activities.
