TAWI-TAWI – A total amount of Php 1,310,400 rice subsidy was released to 182 Unlad Pamilyang Bangsamoro beneficiaries in Turtle Island, province of Tawi, on 15 October 2023. The rice subsidy was monetized where each recipient received an amount of Php 7,200.00, covering the months of July to December 2023.
The beneficiaries expressed their gratitude as the amount is a significant support to their daily rice subsidy as well as a supplement to their other needs such as education support for their children and healthcare.
The Unlad Pamilyang Bangsamoro program is a crucial component of MSSD’s goal– to provide at least 5% of the total number of poor Bangsamoro households with improved levels of well-being. Aside from rice subsidies, the program also includes skills training, livelihood seed capital, and medical assistance especially during emergencies – to ensure that these families move from survival to subsistence, and from subsistence to self-sufficiency levels.
