On October 16, 2023, MSSDโs 19 Municipal Action Teams (MATs) under the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) in Lanao del Sur conducted a joint effort to monitor the backyard and communal gardens of the program beneficiaries in the province.
This program requirement aims to encourage 4Ps beneficiaries to grow their own Bio-Intensive Gardens, also known as “Gulayan sa Barangay,” that will provide them access to nutritious foods and even serve as an additional source of income.
The MAT, composed of MSSD field workers, visited households that didn’t have these gardens before to see how they’ve benefited since starting their own backyard gardens. This demonstrates the programโs dedication to improving the lives of the local communities it serves.
4Ps is a nationally-funded program implemented by MSSD in BARMM that is committed to promoting health, nutrition, organic farming, and sustainable green practices among its beneficiaries. 4Ps workers share these messages during their Family Development Sessions (FDS) to support green programs initiated by the national government.
