SPECIAL GEOGRAPHIC AREA โ The Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD) participated in a joint outreach program organized by the SGA Development Authority (SGADA) at Barangay Buliok on July 20, 2023. The initiative aimed to bring essential social interventions closer to marginalized sectors in the region.
Through its Bangsamoro Critical Assistance for Indigents in Response to Emergency Situations (B-CARES) Program, the Ministry offered medical assistance and referral services to 800 beneficiaries from eight barangays in the area. The served barangays include Bagoinged, Barungis, Buliok, Bulol, Gli-Gli, Kabasalan, Macabual, and Rajah Muda.
Various ministries and offices of the Bangsamoro Government also actively participated in the event, extending their services to indigent clients.
The Office of the Chief Minister’s Tulong Alay para sa Bangsamorong Nangangailangan (TABANG) Project, Ministry of Health, Cotabato Regional Medical Center (CRMC), Cotabato City Health Office, Philippine National Police (PNP), and the Rural Health Units of Pagalungan and Pikit conducted a medical mission, providing free medical consultations and medicines to those in need.
To support livelihood opportunities, the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Agrarian Reform (MAFAR) distributed seedlings, fish feeds, and livestock vitamins to the beneficiaries. Additionally, the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Tourism (MTIT) assisted clients with business registration.
The BARMM’s Rapid Emergency Assistance for Disaster Incidence (READI) and the Ministry of Interior and Local Government (MILG) also distributed rice and family food packs to the indigent clients.
The outreach program had a twofold impact โ providing social interventions to indigent communities while also serving as an awareness campaign to inform them about the various programs and services offered by the Bangsamoro Government, which they can avail of.
