HADJI PANGILIMA TAHIL, SULU — The Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD), in collaboration with the local government unit of Hadji Panglima Tahil, celebrated the National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation (NDPR) Week here on July 19, 2023.
The event featured activities such as cash assistance payouts, a talent showcase featuring persons with disabilities (PWDs), and distribution of giveaways to PWDs and orphans. A total of 53 PWDs received P1,500 each under the Kalinga para sa may Kapansanan Program, while orphaned beneficiaries of the Kupkop Program received P15,000 each. The subsidies they received cover the first quarter of this year.
The celebration emphasized the importance of supporting PWDs, including orphans, in the community and promoting their inclusion and welfare.
Through its various social protection programs, the Ministry aims to create more inclusive environment and equal opportunities for all individuals, including the vulnerable members of society.
