In its commitment to ensuring the holistic implementation of social protection programs and the efficient delivery of services, the Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD) convened a management committee meeting with a community-based approach from June 9 to 13, 2023, at M Bistro in Marawi City, Lanao del Sur.
During the meeting, key personnel from the regional and provincial offices of MSSD presented status reports on their operations, focusing on their physical and financial accomplishments, targets, catch-up plans, innovations, and best practices at the grassroots level. Updates on finance, monitoring and evaluation, procurement, supply and delivery of goods and services, human resources, strategic performance management system (SPMS), and citizen’s charter from the regional office were also discussed.
As part of the community-based assessment of the program’s operations, MSSD also organized a simultaneous “๐ ๐ช๐ข๐ช๐จ๐ฉ๐๐๐๐ฃ” or dialogue with field workers and para-social workers deployed in different municipalities. This dialogue provided them with an opportunity to directly raise their concerns and challenges and receive immediate action points from the key officials.
The participating heads and personnel also conducted field visits to various beneficiaries and facilities supported by the Ministryโs programs in the municipalities of Marantao, Balindong, Tugaya, Madalum, and Bacolod Kalawi. These visits included child development centers’ outdoor play facilities, water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) facilities, as well as microenterprises of livelihood beneficiaries. Additionally, home visits were made to MSSD-assisted clients, including orphans, persons with disabilities, senior citizens, and indigent students.
During the field visits, the provincial branch offices of Lanao del Sur A and B showcased their best practices and highlighted the milestones achieved by program recipients upon availing themselves of the services and social protection programs offered by MSSD.
