COTABATO CITY โ Earlier today, the Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD), through its Children and Youth Welfare Program (CYWP), distributed essential Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) materials to enhance the learning experience of children enrolled in child development centers (CDCs) in the city.
The child development workers (CDWs) were present to receive the ECCD materials, which included board story books, Aklat Adarna Volumes 1 to 5, balls, art papers, colored chalks, posters, pencils, erasers, scissors, and watercolors. These materials were carefully chosen to cater to the educational and creative needs of the young learners.
At present, there are 69 active CDCs in Cotabato City, with 10 centers having already received their materials. The distribution aimed to benefit the remaining 59 centers, ensuring that they have access to quality learning materials.
As part of the CYWP’s continuous support, the Ministry is scheduled to release the honorarium of the CDWs assigned in this city within this month. Looking ahead, the residents of Cotabato City can anticipate various upcoming interventions from the MSSD through the CYWP this year. These include the development of outdoor facilities for ECCD centers, specialized training for CDWs, and the reproduction of ECCD checklists to ensure compliance with quality standards.
By equipping ECCD centers with necessary materials and providing continuous support, the Ministry aims to contribute to the holistic development of children in different parts of the Bangsamoro region.
