SAGONSONGAN, MARAWI CITY โ The Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD) distributed P15,000-business capital to internally displaced persons (IDPs) from 34 barangays that belong to the Less Affected Areas (LAA) during the siege in 2017. A total of 5,414 beneficiaries received the grant under the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) during the series of payouts conducted here from March 17-28, 2023.
The livelihood capital distribution will enable the IDPs to establish their microenterprises and support their daily needs. With this initiative, the BARMM government aims to promote economic recovery and rebuild the Marawi community, which was severely affected by the conflict.
SLP is a poverty alleviation program aimed at empowering and improving the socio-economic status of the poor, vulnerable, and marginalized sectors of society.
