BARANGAY SIMONE, SPECIAL GEOGRAPHIC AREA โ Following the launching of Hadiya: Care Packages for Elderly Bangsamoro last 14 February 2023, the Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD) started conducting house-to-house distribution to reach the bedbound and vulnerable senior citizens in BARMM.
This is the first program in the region under the Older Persons and Persons with Disability Welfare Program (OPPWDWP) which aims to provide care packages to qualified indigent senior citizens to meet their various needs associated with aging.
Each Hadiya (gift) contains goods and gadgets that will allow them to monitor their health and take care of their needs. Specifically, inside each package are the following: digital blood pressure monitor, finger pulse oximeter, temperature scanner, pillbox, two boxes of disposable face mask, liniment oil, rubbing alcohols, two packs of adult diapers, hot and cold compress device, talcum powder, mentholated rub, wooden back scratcher, two packs of powdered milk, a set of socks, towel, burn ointment, povidone-iodine, gauze bandage, surgical tape, cotton balls, band aid, and tissue rolls.
According to Hyri Nur Pamikirin, RSW, the house-to-house distribution will continue today until tomorrow to cater all the 20 senior citizens residing at barangays Sanggadong, Pedtad, Buluan, and Nangaan of SGA.
