COTABATO CITY – Following the successful launch and roadmap presentation of MSSDโs Financial Assistance System Transformation (FAST) Project, a landmark initiative on the digital payment system in BARMM, the Ministry held a Planning Workshop on the projectโs pilot expansion for this 2023 at Jehan Hall, Al-Nor Convention Center, Cotabato City yesterday, February 27.
Heads from the different programs, sections, and divisions were convened to discuss and provide collective inputs for the projectsโ target-setting and stakeholder mapping which are integral factors in formulating its work and financial plan.
โWe need to ensure that the succeeding ways forwards are aligned according to how we designed our transformation initiative. We have to strengthen our ICT, grievance system, feedback and control mechanism, and validation procedures,โ said Hamodi Lao Tiboron, CPA, Chief of MSSDโs Finance Management Support Services Division (FMSSD).
โWe need this kind of discourse so that everything is consulted, informed, and leveled off on the understanding in support to the moral governance direction and advocacy of the Bangsamoro government,โ Tiboron added.
FAST Project is lodged in the Ministryโs FMSSD which aims to expedite service delivery to the beneficiaries of MSSDโs social protection programs across BARMM by adopting a digital payment system.
As part of its implementation, MSSD will expand the pilot testing of transferring the beneficiary more of payment from direct cash payment to digital or over-the-counter payment that started in 2022 into at least five (5) financial assistance programs of the Ministry in selected areas BARMM.
With FAST Project, by 2028, MSSD aims to fully transform its financial assistance system by utilizing emerging financial technologies and services to position the Ministry as the social service frontline in Bangsamoro.
