MIDSAYAP, SPECIAL GEOGRAPHIC AREA โIn response to the recent armed conflict, which occurred in the area between barangays Sambulawan and Lomopog, MSSD has conducted validation of the affected residents and visitation to evacuation centers on 05 October 2022.
It was found that there is a total of 1,050 displaced families, with 732 house-based and 318 of them temporarily staying in evacuation centers. Tomorrow, 07 October, each displaced family will receive food pack, 25 kilogram-rice, and sleeping kit from the Ministry.
The tension between the two groups involved in the armed conflict officially subsided after a peace dialogue spearheaded by the Philippine military, Local Government Unit (LGU), Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF)- Coordinating Committee on the Cessation of Hostilities (MILFCCCH), Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) representatives, MSSD, barangay officials, and other concerned organizations. According to the situational report of MSSD-SGA, there are five (5) casualties of the conflict and two (2) of them are still critical condition.
