The Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD) has been providing critical assistance for indigent families and individuals affected by crisis situations under the Bangsamoro Critical Assistance for Indigents in Response to Emergency Situations or the Bangsamoro CARES Program.

Part of the Bangsamoro CARES Program is the partnership between MSSD and at least ten hospitals across the BARMM, including the Cotabato Regional Medical Center (CRMC).

From 6 October 2020 to 3 September 2021, MSSD has served 1,507 patients at CRMC, with a total assistance of PhP 10,002,219.51. More than 50% of the patients served come from Cotabato City.

Medical assistance covers hospitalization expenses, cost of medicines, other medical treatments or procedures (e.g., laboratory fees, dialysis, chemotherapy, CT scan, MRI, anti-retroviral therapy, etc.).

The amount of medical assistance provided to the client is based on the assessment of MSSD’s medical social worker after deducting PhilHealth entitlements.
