In line with 2021 National Childrenโs Month celebration, the Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD) spearheaded the provision of different services and assistance from the Bangsamoro Government to the 94 indigent children in Malabang, Lanao del Sur on 19 November 2021.
The children received learning materials, hygiene kits, drawing books, and other school supplies from MSSD, additional hygiene kits from the Office of the Chief Ministerโs Tulong para sa Bangsamorong Nangangailangan (TABANG) Project, nutritious meals from the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Agrarian Reform (MAFAR), toys collected from different agencies in the BARMM (MIPA, BDA, MOH and NNC-BARMM), and slippers from the Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA) Office of Atty. Raissa H. Jajurie.
Parents of the children also received 25 kilograms of rice and assorted grocery items.
Shows like magics, bubbles, mascots and balloon twisting doubled the excitement and entertainment of the children and the whole community.
Also, municipal health workers from the Rural Health Unit provided free medical consultation, lawyers from the Public Attorneyโs Office extended free legal services for the families of the children, and personnel from the LGU’s civil registrar offered free live birth registration more than one hundred unregistered children.
This community outreach program for the indigent and displaced children was materialized through the collective efforts of the different ministries and line agencies that are members of the Regional Sub-Committee for the Welfare of the Children (RSCWC) and Regional Juvenile Justice and Welfare Council (RJJWC).
