On January 24, 2022, the Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD) in the Special Geographic Area (SGA) of BARMM commenced its distribution of relief assistance to families affected by the recent police operations at Barangay Gokotan, which resulted to the loss of innocent lives and properties, disruption of livelihood and the displacement of more than 1,400 families.
From the area visitation and actual validation conducted by the MSSD SGA personnel, it was concluded that the residents of Barangay Gokotan are in need of immediate assistance in the form of food and other basic necessities during these critical times when properties were lost and livelihoods disrupted as an aftermath of the incident.
A total of 1,456 families in the nine sitios of Barangay Gokotan received 25 kilograms of rice, sleeping kits, and hygiene kits from MSSD while families of the six casualties will be given additional cash assistance to help ease their current situation.
MSSD as part of its mandate shall continue to provide life saving support for displaced families across the Bangsamoro Region.
