PICONG, LANAO DEL SUR โ Two hundred and twenty-four (224) flood-affected families in the municipalities of Picong, Madalum, and Madamba received relief assistance from the Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD) Lanao del Sur B Provincial Office on May 19 โ 20, 2022, following heavy rainfall that lasted for several days and submerged houses in the low-lying communities of Lanao del Sur.
Each household received 25 kilograms of food, canned products, additional groceries, sleeping bags, dignity kits, and sackolin waterproof blue sheets (trapal).
99 of the families affected were from Madalum, 76 from Picong, and 49 from Madamba.
Local government units also provided logistical support through the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officers (MDRRMO) of the affected municipalities.
The said assistance is implemented under Emergency Assistance Program (EAP) of the Disaster Response Management Division of the ministry.
