MAGUINDANAO โ In celebration of World Humanitarian Day, the Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD), through Minister Atty. Raissa H. Jajurie, joined the WHD program earlier today in Datu Saudi Ampatuan.
The social workers, staff, and volunteers of the Ministry belong the front-line humanitarian workers, who deliver assistance during crises like conflict and disaster. Thus, the WHD celebration serves as one of the most significant events that it celebrates annually in paying tribute not just to its field workers, but also for all humanitarian workers across the globe, who selflessly render their service during times of crisis.
During the program, the representatives from various humanitarian organizations and agencies emphasized the value, importance, and effectiveness of humanitarian work through discussing their programs and implementations. As such, the venue of the program was intentionally chosen to highlight the contribution of humanitarian organizations in providing assistance to the SPMX box in Maguindanao.
The activity was led by the ECHO-funded Response to the Unmet Humanitarian Needs of the Most Vulnerable Populations in Mindanao Affected by Conflict, Disasters, and the COVID-19 Pandemic (REACH 3) Project consortium implemented by ACCORD, Action Against Hunger Philippines, CARE Philippines, Community Organizers Multiversity, IDEALS, Nisa Ul-Haqq Fi Bangsamoro, United Youth of the Philippines-Women, and Oxfam Pilipinas, together with other ECHO-funded consortiums in the SPMS Box and MHT Working Group members: the Moropreneur Inc (TMI), Plan International, Save the Children, and UN OCHA.
