COTABATO CITY — Four thousand six hundred forty (4640) indigent residents of Cotabato City individually received 25 kilos of rice from the Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD) as of September 17, 2021.

During the distribution of the said assistance in this month of September in the seven (7) barangays of the city, MSSD already reached various individuals and families belonging to the most disadvantaged and vulnerable sectors whose meager incomes and sources of livelihoods were severely affected and exacerbated by the pandemic.

Among the recipients were indigent senior citizens, Persons With Disability (PWDs) returning Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs), hafiz or students of Islamic institutions, and Indigenous People (IP).

Following the official turn-over of Cotabato City to the Bangsamoro Government on December 2020, MSSD and the rest of the BARMM offices have been reaching out to the residents of the city through extending its different programs and social service interventions. (Jidday B. Lucman/MSSD BARMM)
