MSSD conducted Free Live Birth Registration (FBR) in Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi from August 4-15, 2022. This is an initiative of the Ministry in coordination with United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), Municipal Civil Registrar (MCR), Local Government Units (LGUs), and Barangay Local Government Units (BLGUs), which aims to increase the birth registration rate in these pilot areas, wherein many of the indigenous and marginalized citizens are not yet registered.

PIKIT, SPECIAL GEOGRAPHIC AREA — MSSD provided food packs and sleeping kits to 232 flood-affected residents and internally displaced persons (IDPs) here on 17 August 2022. They are currently staying at Macabual Elementary School.
