Special Geographic Area — A total of 830 student beneficiaries here have received their stipend under the Angat Bangsamoro Kabataan (ABaKa) Program of MSSD during the payouts conducted from June 27, 2022 to July 1, 2022. The schedule of the incoming payouts for the remaining 7 barangays in Carmen is yet to be announced.
Under this program, the indigent students receive financial assistance from the ministry to cover their school-related expenses.
The qualified indigent students under the ABaKa program receive a one-time grant which depends on their grade level — P1,000 for elementary; P1,500 for junior and senior high school; and P10,000 for college students.
The Special Geographic Area consists of 63 barangays in six municipalities of North Cotabato, which were officially turned over to BARMM on November 20, 2019.
