From 13 January to 18 February 2022, a total of 821 Badjaos have been assisted by MSSD.

The Badjaos, who arrived in six batches from the National Capital Region, were provided with transportation assistance and other welfare goods.

This is part of MSSD’s 𝗛𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗳𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗱𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗶𝗻 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗼𝗿 𝗛𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗗 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺.

MSSD supported the transfer of these poor and vulnerable individuals back to their home province of Sulu.

In addition to the transportation assistance, the MSSD Sulu Provincial Office also provided food packs, hygiene and sleeping kits.

The Bangsamoro Humanitarian Assistance and Transfer for Individuals in Distress (HATID) Program is a form of emergency assistance to individuals in distress to (1) ensure the safety and security of the individuals (especially women, children, persons with disability and other persons with specific needs) by facilitating movement away from the imminent threat of physical, emotional and psychological threat; (2) facilitate the emergency and essential transfer of vulnerable individuals to their places of origin, reunification with the family members, relatives and significant others (support system) and referrals with other social welfare assistance; and (3) contribute to the over-all social protection interventions to the GBV victims, locally stranded individuals (LSIs), returning Filipinos, including those who are from Sabah, IDPs and other vulnerable individuals.
