MAGUINDANAO DEL SUR – A total of 623 internally displaced persons (IDPs), who are returnees in Barangay Gawang, Datu Saudi Ampatuan, received a pabaon package, a bundle of both food and non-food items on December 13, 2023.

Each “pabaon package” comprises 1 sack of rice, canned goods, noodles, coffee, sugar, malong (traditional robe), trapal (plastic sheet), and 1 mineral water container.

This intervention aims to provide immediate support to families affected by conflict, helping them meet their basic needs.

Partner agencies, including the Department of National Defense (DND) – BARMM, Office of Member of Parliament Basser Utto, Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Datu Saudi Municipal Police Station, Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, and the Municipal Local Government Unit of Datu Saudi Ampatuan, also provided support in logistics and workforce during the distribution.
