LANAO DEL SUR โ The Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD) conducted simultaneous monitoring of the Bio-Intensive Gardens (BIG) and/or Gulayan Sa Barangay of its Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries in this province from May 17 to 18, 2023.
This activity was conducted to ensure that the beneficiaries are complying with the conditionalities and requirements of the 4Ps. One of these requirements is the establishment of backyard or communal gardens, which promotes the consumption of nutritious foods and provides a potential source of income.
Municipal links and social welfare assistants visited identified Gulayan sa Barangay sites in their respective areas to monitor its impact on the well-being of the households. These initiatives are in line with the rice subsidy granted to compliant beneficiaries of the program.
Through the Gulayan sa Barangay program, the Ministry aims to strengthen its advocacies in health and nutrition, organic farming, and green practices. The Family Development Session (FDS) serves as a platform to promote these causes and other green programs of the national government.
