COTABATO CITY โ A total of 262 indigent families received rice subsidies from the Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD) during the payout held at the Peopleโs Palace of Cotabato City on December 30, 2023.
Each family was granted PhP 7,200, covering their rice subsidies for six (6) months.
This social intervention is implemented under the Unlad Pamilyang Bangsamoro Program of MSSD which aims to enhance the well-being of the most vulnerable households in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) through a comprehensive approach. The program includes various interventions such as providing livelihood seed capital, skills training, rice subsidies, educational assistance, medical support, and emergency aid. The goal is to elevate the socio-economic conditions of these families from survival to subsistence and ultimately to self-sufficiency levels.
The City Government of Cotabato, in collaboration with the Office of City Social Welfare and Development Office (OCSWDO), facilitated the distribution of the rice subsidies.
Bainor Mohammad, RSW, OIC head of the Family and Community Welfare Section of OCSWDO, said that they will continue validating and assessing other household beneficiaries of the Unlad Pamilyang Bangsamoro Program in the city.
