SULUโ The Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD) conducted a skills training workshop on business management for 159 beneficiaries of the Unlad Pamilyang Bangsamoro Program in Kalingalan Caluang, Sulu on December 3, 2023. The participants were equipped with essential skills in business planning, strategy, and selling to ensure effective management of their microenterprise projects.
Upon successful completion of the training, these beneficiaries qualify for the scale-up phase of the Unlad Pamilyang Bangsamoro Program, entitling them to an additional Php 20,000 each as supplementary capital for their livelihoods. The payout of this financial assistance is scheduled to take place in the coming days.
During the workshop, MSSD Sulu Provincial Social Welfare Officer Hadja Imelda Kangiluhan, RSW, highlighted the program’s significance and its potential to empower beneficiaries to achieve self-sufficiency in the face of ongoing crises.
“This initiative aims to alleviate the plight of the beneficiaries and empower them to become self-sufficient amidst the ongoing crises,” Kangiluhan emphasized in her speech.
The Unlad Pamilyang Bangsamoro Program, a comprehensive social protection initiative by MSSD, aims to enhance the well-being of the poorest households in the Bangsamoro Region through case management and a range of social interventions, including livelihood support, skills training, educational subsidies, and emergency assistance.
