Kabacan, Special Geographic Area — A total of 1,502 internally displaced persons (IDPs) in barangays Simbuhay, Simone, and Tamped of this municipality received welfare goods composed of 25 kilogram-rice and food pack during the distribution conducted by MSSD from July 7-8, 2022.
These IDPs are the families affected by the tension between Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF), which occurred on April 5-8, 2022 in the area.
Their struggle is aggravated by the recent heavy rainfall, increasing prices of goods, and fuel price hikes. The Ministry aims to alleviate their difficult situation through providing them with this assistance.
