SPECIAL GEOGRAPHIC AREA — MSSD has distributed relief goods to 10,838 flood-affected residents in municipalities of Pikit and Midsayap from July 22-29, 2022.
In Pikit, residents from barangays Macasandeg, Nunguan, Gokotan, Lagunde, Pamalian, Manaulanan, Nabundas, Balong, Balungis, Batulawan, Fort Pikit, and Nalapaan already received relief goods. Meanwhile, in Midsayap, residents from barangays Kadigasan, Olandang, Kudarangan, and Damatulan also received the same assistance comprised of 25 kilogram-rice, 6 cans of sardines, 3 corned beef, and 1 dozen-instant coffee.
The ongoing heavy rainfall aggravated the level of flood in these areas while most of the residents are still recovering from the same natural calamity, which caused the loss of their livelihood. Thus, the Ministry will continue monitor and assess all areas with residents that need immediate relief assistance.
