PATIKUL, SULU โ Following the outreach program conducted at Tawi-Tawi on 22 November 2022, the Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD), in partnership with the Bangsamoro Youth Commission (BYC), conducted the same event here on 24 Nov. to commemorate the National Children’s Month (NCM).
A total of 100 Sama Bajau children here received their birth certificates, which they applied for during the Free Live Birth Registration conducted by the Ministry’s Children and Youth Welfare Program (CYWP) from August to September 2022. They were also provided with hygiene kits, school supplies, shirts, and meals. Meanwhile, the BYC facilitated the games for the children and provided prizes for them.
The selected learners from Gandasuli Day Care center performed an intermission number while some of the Sama Bajau children performed their folk dance known as โPangalayโ. To reiterate the fundamental rights of all children, PSWO Imelda Kangulihan led the recitation of โPanatang Makabataโ in Tausug language.
Present during the program were PSWO Imelda Kangiluhan, BYC Commissioner Mohammad Faizal Alih, BYC staff, Municipal Civil Registrar (MCR) Gajir K. Junni, MSWO Halima Bahjin, LGU staff, and para-social workers.
