JOLO, SULU, OCTOBER 23, 2023 – For the continuous provision of essential support to the most vulnerable communities, the Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD) supported the Department of Social Welfare Development’s (DSWD) project implementation in Sulu province.
A total of 1,000 beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) from the eight (8 ) barangays of Jolo received one (1) sack of rice each.
The event, held in Patikul town is part of the ongoing efforts of both agencies to address the immediate needs of the 4Ps beneficiaries, who have been significantly affected by ongoing economic challenges.
DSWD secretary Rex Gatchalian, who graced the activity, expressed gratitude to MSSD for assisting with the distribution and ensuring continuous assistance to the 4Ps beneficiaries.
MSSD minister Raissa H. Jajurie was also present at the event together with Sulu Governor Sakur Tan and 19 Mayors of the province.
The partnership between DSWD and MSSD signifies the unity of government agencies in achieving a common goal– uplifting the lives of the most disadvantaged citizens.
The 4Ps program, a flagship poverty alleviation initiative of the Philippine government, aims to provide financial assistance to the country’s poorest households.
