DATU SAUDI AMPATUAN, MAGUINDANAO — MSSD distributed relief goods to 1,000 indigent beneficiaries, who participated in the 3-day food for work activity in the flood-affected barangays here. Each beneficiary received a family food pack and 25 kilogram-rice during the distribution conducted at the municipal gymnasium on 02 August 2022.
The food for work activity was conducted from July 29-31, 2022, in barangays Madia, Dapiawan, Gawang, Kitapok, and Ilian to facilitate the cleanup of the streets, unclog the canals, and improve the drainage system after the flooding incident, which is a result of recurring heavy rainfall in their area.
Meanwhile, the less affected barangays Salbu and Kabengi also conducted the same activity in coordination with Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Agrarian Reform (MAFAR) to clear an agricultural land that will be utilized for their community garden.
This activity of Disaster Risk Reduction and Emergency Assistance (DREAM) Program was conducted in coordination with Municipal Social Welfare Office (MSWO), Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), para-social workers, and Local Government Unit (LGU) of Maguindanao.
