BARMM SPECIAL GEOGRAPHIC AREA – A total of 150 indigent children benefited from the outreach activity of the Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD) in celebration of National Children’s Month held in Brgy. Nangaan, Kabacan, BARMM Special Geographic Area (SGA) on November 23, 2023.
MSSD provided T-shirts, tumblers, umbrellas, and notebooks to all the children participants.
Representatives from different partner agencies, including the Bangsamoro Planning and Development Authority (BPDA) and Bangsamoro Attorney-General’s Office (BAGO), joined the distribution and provided meals for the children.
In his speech, Atty. Mohammad Muktadir A. Estrella, MSSD’s Director General, emphasized that the Children’s Month Celebration recognizes the significance of the children in the community.
“The best investment is always in our children because they are the face of the future. They will be the face of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) decades from now,” Estrella said.
The outreach activity included showcasing the talents of the children in singing, dancing, and poetry. Additionally, the magic show, bubble show, and parlor games entertained the children. The event concluded with the awarding of prizes and the distribution of meals for the children.
Also present during the activity were MSSD BARMM SGA Provincial Social Welfare Officer Haron D. Amer, Municipal Social Welfare Officer Hyri-nur R. Pamikirin, representatives from BPDA and BAGO, barangay officials, MSSD field workers, para-social workers, and daycare workers.
