UPI, MAGUINDANAO DEL NORTE โ The Ministry of Social Services and Development distributed financial assistance to seven (7) surviving relatives of the deceased Typhoon Paeng (Nalgae) victims of this municipality earlier today, 10 November 2022.
MSSD Deputy Minister Nur-Ainee Tan Lim and Maguindanao PSWO Emma Ali personally handed over the cheques to the bereaved families.
This is under MSSDโs Bangsamoro Critical Assistance for Indigents in Response to Emergency Situations (B-CARES), which provides support for families of individuals who died during natural or human-induced calamities.
The said families have undergone Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) session conducted by trained social workers prior to receiving the assistance from the Ministry.
MSSD recognizes that the provision of life saving assistance (e.g., food, shelter, water and sanitation, medical aid) is more effective when combined with psychosocial programs like MHPSS. It is vital to continue addressing the mental well-being of those who suffered the brunt of the typhoon to foster their psychological improvement.
