BASILAN – The Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD) is currently releasing the cash assistance of 17,877 senior citizen beneficiaries in this province.
As of today, the senior citizens in the municipalities of Hadji Muhtamad, Tabuan Lasa, Maluso, Lantawan, Sumisip, Tipo-Tipo, Al-Barka, Ungkaya Pukan, Tuburan, and Hadji Mohammad Ajul have received their subsidy. Meanwhile, the remaining beneficiaries in the municipality of Akbar and Lamitan City are set to receive their allowance in the coming days.
The payout, led by OPPWDWP regional focal person Sandra B. Macacua, began on January 18, 2023, and will run until February 3, 2023.
The Republic Act No. 9994, also known as Expanded Senior Citizens Act of 2010, provides for the grant of a PhP 500-monthly subsidy to indigent senior citizens to support their basic necessities such as medicine and food, through the Social Pension Program.
