LANAO DEL SUR — As a culmination of the Elderly Filipino Week, the participating senior citizens from different municipalities here joined and showcased their talents during the week-long celebration on 1-7 October 2022.
Adhering to this year’s theme, “Older Persons: Resilience in Nation Building”, the senior citizens exhibited their vigor by participating in the parlor games. Some of them performed folk dance, 𝘣𝘢𝘺𝘰𝘬 (Maranao folk song), storytelling, and played the kulintang.
After the program, each of them received food pack, hygiene kit, and 10 kilogram-rice. Meanwhile, two (2) of them received wheelchair and financial assistance from the Ministry to aid their mobility and vulnerability.
MSSD is committed to its mandate in providing social protection programs that support the well-being of the elders.
