WAO, LANAO DEL SUR — In celebration of National Elderly Week, a total of 1,258 senior citizens from different barangays here joined the program organized by MSSD on 4 October 2022 at the municipal plaza.
The senior citizens participated in different activities including motorcade, parlor games, and other parts of the program, which emphasized the significant role of the elders.
Anchored on the theme “Older Persons: Resilience for Nation-Building”, the week-long event highlights the contributions of the senior citizens and centenarians in every Filipino community. This event also aims to raise awareness and address the issues concerning them. Other municipalities in this province also conducted the same event.
This is in coordination with Local Government Unit (LGU) and Office for Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA) in the area.
