Five (5) day care centers in North Upi, Maguindanao started the safe reopening for face-to-face classes on 2 May 2022.
The daycare centers in Nangi, Upper Borongotan, Central Borongotan, Upi, and Kibleg are part of the pilot implementation of the safe reopening of day care centers across the country.
At least 78 learners between 2 to 5 years old are participating in the pilot safe reopening of classes.
These centers have been issued certificates of compliance by the Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) Council following the assessment conducted by MSSD’s Child and Youth Welfare Program (CYWP) staff from 30 March to 16 April 2022.
MSSD utilized the National Child Development Center/Child Development Center Readiness Assessment Tool to determine their readiness and eligibility to implement the safe reopening of early childhood education in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.
These daycare centers met all the indicators outlined in the tool, including the alert level classification in the municipality, the number of recorded COVID cases for the past 28 days, its accessibility to public transport or through walking.
These centers are equipped to implement health and safety protocols to ensure the safety of the daycare learners.
