BACOLOD-KALAWI, LANAO DEL SUR — The Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD), in partnership with the local government unit (LGU) here, commemorated the 45th National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation (NDPR) Week on July 21, 2023.
A total of 46 Kalinga para sa may Kapansanan beneficiaries attended the event, with some of them showcasing their talents in singing and Qur’an reading. A short orientation on the significant provisions of RA 7277 (Magna Carta of Disabled Persons as amended by RA 9442) was also conducted during the program to raise awareness of their rights as PWDs.
The LGU of Bacolod-Kalawi offered the participants free check-ups for blood pressure and pneumonia vaccination.
The theme for this year’s National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation (NDPR) Week, “Person with Disabilities Accessibility and Rights: Towards a Sustainable Future where No One is Left Behind,” emphasizes the importance of creating an inclusive society that recognizes the rights of persons with disabilities (PWDs) and ensures their equal participation in all aspects of life.
