BASILAN โ The Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD), in collaboration with the Local Government Unit of Lamitan City, distributed cash assistance to 2,091 vulnerable beneficiaries of various social protection programs during a series of payouts from January 9-10, 2024.
A total of 1,174 indigent learners under the Angat Bangsamoro: Kabataan Tungo sa Karunungan (ABaKa) Program received educational assistance. Among these recipients, 438 elementary students received PHP 2,000 each, 438 high school students received PHP 3,000 each, and 298 college students also received PHP 10,000 each.
Under the Kupkop Program of MSSD, 190 orphaned children received PHP 5,000 each in the municipality. There were also ten (10) case-managed orphans who received PHP 15,000 each.
Additionally, 436 indigent persons with disabilities (PWDs) under the Kalinga Para sa may Kapansanan Program individually received PHP 10,500.
MSSDโs Unlad Pamilyang Bangsamoro Program also extended PHP 10,800 each to 249 household beneficiaries as monetized rice subsidies.
Forty-two daycare workers also received PHP 18,000 each from the Ministry as their honorarium for first to third quarter of 2023.
MSSD continuously exemplifies its ongoing commitment by providing holistic and quality social service interventions for the vulnerable sectors in the Bangsamoro region. More than financial assistance, these initiatives also promote well-being and empower MSSDโs individual beneficiaries to uplift their lives.
