SULU โ Series of cash payouts was conducted by the Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD) through the Social Pension (SocPen) Program on 7-8 and 12-13 February 2024.
A total of 1,032 indigent senior citizens from the 22 barangays of this province received PhP 3,000.00 each of cash assistance.
The beneficiaries were from barangays Laum Buwahan, Laum Suwah, Liang, Linuho, Lipunos, Lower Sampunay, Lumbaan Mahaba, Lungan Gitong, Lupa Abu, Nonokan, Paugan, Payuhan, Piyahan, Poblacion, Saldang, Sampunay, Silangkan, Taingting, Tikong, Tumangas, Tukay, and Wanni Piyanjihan.
Prior to the payout, MSSD Sulu field workers conducted a thorough validation to ensure data accuracy of each beneficiary.
The MSSD will continue to bring programs and services for the vulnerable sectors and those less fortunate individuals across the BARMM region.
The SocPen Program is a nationally-funded social protection program implemented by MSSD in BARMM. It aims to provide a PhP500 monthly stipend to senior citizens who belong to the most disadvantaged and vulnerable sectors to support their daily needs and other necessary medications.
