The Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD) through the Philippine Red Cross distributed life-saving relief goods for 1,330 flood-affected families Barangay Balungis, Pikit Cluster in the Special Geographic Area (SGA) on 30 April 2022.
The families received 25 kg. of rice, 6 cans of sardines, 3 cans of tuna, 3 cans of corned beef, and 6 sachets of instant coffee.
MSSD targets to provide relief goods for 18,174 families in SGA in the next few days.
The Philippine Red Cross released the goods on behalf of MSSD in compliance with Comelec’s prohibition against the release, disbursement, or expenditure of government funds during the election period.
Despite the Comelec ban, the Ministry has been able to deliver life-saving support for flood-affected communities these past few weeks.
