MAGUINDANAO DEL SUR – In the continuous implementation of the Bahay Program, the Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD) held another groundbreaking ceremony to construct 16 housing units as permanent shelters for displaced families in Brgy. Limpongo, Datu Hoffer Ampatuan, Maguindanao del Sur on March 8, 2023.
The recipients were families from Indigenous Peoplesโ (IP) communities who were left homeless after a fire incident turned their houses into ashes five (5) years ago.
The said groundbreaking activity was graced by Municipal Mayor Bai Bongbong Ampatuan, Hasim Guiamil, the Chief of MSSDโs Disaster Response Management Division (DRMD), Hadja Emma Ali, the Provincial Social Welfare Officer of MSSD Maguindanao, PCol Roel Sermsese, the Provincial Director of Maguindanao Provincial Police Office, and 1Lt. John Carlo Lumalang, the Commanding Officer of the 40th Infantry Battalion of the Philippine Army.
Representatives from the construction firm, police and army personnel, municipal local government officials, and MSSD field workers were also present.
In her message, Mayor Ampatuan expressed her gratitude and commitment to supporting the said housing project.
โWe will do our best to support the success of the project. We have allocated 15 hectares of land here waiting for the projects that you will give. We are deeply grateful for the assistance you have provided us,โ Mayor Ampatuan said.
