COTABATO CITY โ In line with the 44th observance of the National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation (NDPR) Week, the Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD) officially opened the celebration through extending its different social protection programs and services to indigent persons with disability (PWDs) across the Bangsamoro region.
Following the recent turn-over of 64 assistive devices of MSSD to the City Government Unit of Cotabato, the ministry through its Older Persons and Person with Disability Welfare Program (OPPDWP) along with the city mayorโs personnel conducted house-to-house distribution of assistive devices and medical assistance to bedridden, indigent PWD clients in barangays Bagua Mother, Rosary Heights 3, Rosary Heights 4, Rosary Heights 9, and Rosary Height 10 yesterday, 18 July 2022.

Meanwhile, MSSD provincial and municipal offices will also conduct similar social interventions simultaneously in this week-long observance.
Aside from the assistive devices, the PWD clients will also receive PhP 500 monthly cash subsidy under the Kalinga Para sa May Kapansanan Program, a landmark program of MSSD that provides financial assistance to indigent PWD clients upon assessment and validation.
