𝗠𝗦𝗦𝗗 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘀 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗥𝗲𝗵𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸; 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲-𝘁𝗼-𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀, 𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲

COTABATO CITY — In line with the 44th observance of the National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation (NDPR) Week, the Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD) officially opened the celebration through extending its different social protection programs and services to indigent persons with disability (PWDs) across the Bangsamoro region.

Following the recent turn-over of 64 assistive devices of MSSD to the City Government Unit of Cotabato, the ministry through its Older Persons and Person with Disability Welfare Program (OPPDWP) along with the city mayor’s personnel conducted house-to-house distribution of assistive devices and medical assistance to bedridden, indigent PWD clients in barangays Bagua Mother, Rosary Heights 3, Rosary Heights 4, Rosary Heights 9, and Rosary Height 10 yesterday, 18 July 2022.

“𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗺𝗮𝘁 𝗽𝗼. 𝗠𝗮𝘀 𝗺𝗮𝗱𝗮𝗹𝗶 𝗻𝗮 𝗽𝗼 𝗻𝗴𝗮𝘆𝗼𝗻 𝘆𝘂𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗮𝗴-𝗮𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗴𝗮 𝗸𝗼 𝘀𝗮 𝗮𝘀𝗮𝘄𝗮 𝗸𝗼 𝗸𝗮𝘀𝗶 𝗺𝗮𝘆𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗻 𝗻𝗮 𝘀𝘆𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗮𝘀𝗮𝘀𝗮𝗸𝘆𝗮𝗻 𝗸𝘂𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗮𝗸𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼 𝗻𝘆𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗹𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗯𝗮𝘀. 𝗛𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶 𝗻𝗮 𝘀𝘆𝗮 𝗺𝗮𝗵𝗶𝗵𝗶𝗿𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝘁 𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶 𝗻𝗮 𝗿𝗶𝗻 𝗸𝗮𝗺𝗶 𝗺𝗮𝗵𝗶𝗵𝗶𝗿𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗻,” said Emelda Angcob, 64 years old, resident of Barangay Bagua Mother, wife of a PWD client who is paralyzed due to stroke.

Meanwhile, MSSD provincial and municipal offices will also conduct similar social interventions simultaneously in this week-long observance.

Aside from the assistive devices, the PWD clients will also receive PhP 500 monthly cash subsidy under the Kalinga Para sa May Kapansanan Program, a landmark program of MSSD that provides financial assistance to indigent PWD clients upon assessment and validation.
